5 Things Worship Leaders Need To Consider For When The Lockdown Ends

Have you heard the rumors yet? Churches are going to go back to meeting in person in the relatively near future! (Some sooner than others - but we'll all get there eventually!)

And it's important that we start to prepare for that.

Unfortunately, I don't have a ton of answers right now for what your services should look like. But, I'd like to help you start the process of considering it.

Here are 5 things worship leaders need to consider for when the coronavirus lockdown ends:

1 | What Sunday mornings are going to look like

Things are going to be different. People will interact with each other differently. You might have to go to multiple services. There's a lot to think about.

So start thinking now - what's it going to look like and how will it affect how you lead worship?

2 | How you're going to celebrate your first Sunday back at church

Something tells me that that first Sunday back is going to be SPECIAL. I'm talking like Easter/Christmas special.

What we just went through has never happened before and people are going to be HYPE when we get to meet together again.

So, just like you'd plan in advance for Easter/Christmas, start planning for your first Sunday back - even if you don't have a firm return date yet.

3 | How you're going to re-acclimate your worship team

Some worship teams have enjoyed a nice LONG rest during this season. And it was probably just the Sabbath that they needed. I think a lot of good is going to come out of having this extended time off.

But, it's important that you consider how to reintroduce them into your services. Now is the time to recommunicate expectations and set a healthy course for the future of your worship ministry.

4 | How you will lead people online and in person

Some people will not feel comfortable returning to in-person services yet. Start thinking about how you can engage both online church goers and in-person church goers.

5 | What you want to keep from the lockdown

You've had to basically restructure how you've done church over the past couple months. Think about what you're going to keep from this season and what you can let go once you're able to meet in person again.
