5 Ways You Can Make Worship Rehearsal Different

Worship rehearsal can start to feel like a chore after a while. Changing things up just a little bit can go a long way. Making a simple change can allow your team to look at things in a new light. Changing environments can increase creativity. Don't feel like you need to be locked in to the same routine every single rehearsal.

Here are 5 ways you can make worship rehearsal different:

1 | Outside

Have your rehearsal outside. Have people bring acoustic instruments or just hook up some amps and bring your music outside your church walls. This could be at someone's house or at a park or maybe just some space around your church. This simple change of scenery can bring a whole new vibe to a worship rehearsal.

2 | Different space

Take the extra 1/2 hour to set things up in a different room than you normally practice in. Different rooms have different acoustics and people will hear things differently. A problem with your team's playing might be accentuated in this new room. Not to mention, meeting in a smaller space gives a more intimate feel to rehearsal.

3 | In a circle

Don't have an extra room to rehearse in? Set your musicians up in a circle on stage. Playing music in a circle allows your musicians to interact on a different level. Everyone is able to make eye contact and read each other's playing a lot easier.

4 | Have people in the room

Invite some people to practice who aren't on the worship team. Allow them to sit where the congregation usually sits on Sunday. This allows your team to practice actually leading worship and not just running through their musical parts. In addition, most people in your church don't realize that your team practices during the week. Inviting some of them to practice shows your church how serious your team takes leading them in worship.

5 | Training night

Don't focus on running through all the songs for Sunday. Plan out a training night for your team where you can go deeper on a specific subject!
