“Eight singers on the stage at the same time all singing melody.”

That phrase perfect describes my early days in worship ministry.

I repeat: we had EIGHT singers on stage who were all singing melody throughout the entire song!⁠

At that time I had no concept of song arrangement.

But over the years, I’ve learned a few simple things that have helped me teach my team to think about song arrangements.

We no longer have eight singers singing throughout the entire song. Nor do we have a drummer who plays blast beats throughout the first verse.
