There are a lot of good practices when it comes to introducing new songs in your church but it all starts here: give your team ample time to prepare to lead it.

At a minimum, you should give your worship team at least 2 weeks to learn a new song. This will give your team time to listen to it, work out their individual parts, and play through it together.

If we are going to lead a new song well, we first have to know it well. If you and you're team don't know a new song well, how can you confidently teach it to your church?

That new song you're considering doing... tell your team about it!
