3 Sunday Morning Routines To Start Your Morning Off Right
What you do before you head to church on Sunday morning can set the direction of the rest of your day - for better or for worse. You can do things that set you up for success and make the rest of your day easier. OR you can do things that make the rest of your day harder.
Here are 3 Sunday morning routines to start your morning off right:
1 | Wake up early enough that you don't have to rush to get to church
If you start your morning off rushing from one thing to the next in order to get to church on time, that sets the tone for what the rest of your day will be like. You'll get to the end of the day and realize that you weren't in control of anything. You were just responding to the next thing that popped up during the day.
But, when you wake up early enough, you get to be in control of your morning. You get to choose what you get to do instead of just getting a quick 2 minute shower and showing up to rehearsal a few minutes late.
A good Sunday morning starts with easing into it and having enough time to set yourself up for success the rest of the day.
2 | Read your Bible
If you're about to lead your church in worship, you should start your morning off in God's Word (and even if you aren't, you should still do it too). The truth is that what you do in private will eventually come out in public. That can be a good thing or a bad thing. If you start your morning filling yourself with God's Word, that's more likely to come out when you lead your church. What are you filling yourself with before you head to church on Sunday?
3 | Pray through your set list
Work your way through your set list one more time. Hopefully by now you've run through it musically. And maybe you've even taken it a step further and worshiped through your set list during the week. Now, pray through it! Look at the lyrics of the songs and pray them to God. Then, consider what they mean for the people you're going to be leading that morning.
