5 Ways To Find Musicians For Your Worship Team
Most worship leaders wish they had more volunteers on their worship team. Maybe you want to add someone who can play an instrument that you don't currently have on your team. Maybe, if you just had a few more people, some of your current members could take a week off every once in a while.
The thing is... it's hard to find new members for your worship team. So, how can you do it?
Here are 5 ways to find musicians for your worship team:
1 | Pray!
This seems obvious but it's easy for it to take a backseat in the process. Have you earnestly prayed? Have you asked God for his will to be done in your church (even if that means you don't get what YOU want?) Start with prayer and then keep going!
2 | Ask!
If you want people to join, you actually have to ask them! Most people will not just walk up to you and ask to be on the team. They might not even know that you're accepting new people to join. So, let people know that you are looking to add to your team. But, it can't stop there. Most people won't accept a general invitation either...
3 | Search!
That means that you have to go out and find people! More people will respond to a PERSONAL invite than a GENERAL invite. So, go out and have conversations with people in your church. You might be surprised who plays an instrument and could be a good fit for your team. The only way to find them is to seek them out!
4 | Teach!
What if there isn't anyone in your church who plays an instrument? Well, luckily you have at least one musical person in your church... YOU! You can teach them how to play an instrument. Even if you don't know how to play a certain instrument, people are much more likely to want to learn if someone walks alongside them in the process.
5 | Patience!
Finally, this takes time! It takes time to find people. It takes time to teach people. And it takes time to assimilate them into your team. Be patient and enjoy the season you're in!
