6 Questions to Ask to Review Your Worship Gathering
Reviewing your worship gathering is vital in improving your worship leading. It often goes forgotten and we end up blindly moving on to the next week without considering what happened the week before. "Sunday is over but Sunday is coming." This week work through these 6 questions and come up with one actionable step to implement when leading next Sunday.
Answer these 6 questions:
1 | What worked?
What went well this past Sunday? Was there a moment where things "just felt right?" Was there a specific moment of your worship where you were acutely aware of the presence of God? Make a list of the things that worked.
2 | Why did it work?
Take the first question a step further. Don't just make a list but analyze what you wrote down. What made these things work? Was it the way they were presented? Was it something new you tried?
3 | What didn't work?
Inversely, ask yourself the question what didn't go well this Sunday? Was there a moment where it felt like things got derailed? Make a list of the things that didn't work.
4 | Why didn't it work?
Analyze this list. What made these things not work? Pin down the specific reason.
5 | What should we not do again?
Now that you've identified the problem you can come up with a solution. Was there something that just simply didn't work and should be avoided in the future? Or perhaps it just needs tweaking. Analyze and find a solution.
6 | What should we do again?
Take those things that worked and double down on them!
Analyze this past Sunday and come up with one actionable step to implement when leading next Sunday.
