Saturday Challenge - Explain An Unfamiliar Phrase In A Christmas Song
I challenge you to explain an unfamiliar phrase in a Christmas song when you lead worship tomorrow.
Christmas songs are familiar to the people of your church. They grew up singing them so they know how they go. But, there are so many phrases in traditional Christmas songs that people have heard before but have no idea what they actually mean.
For example, the average person in your church has no idea what the word "hark" in "Hark the Herald Angels Sing" means (it means "listen - pay attention" by the way).
Likewise, they probably haven't made the connection that "Joy To The World" is based on scripture - specifically Psalm 98.
So, if you want to teach your church that #christmassongsareworshipsongs, take some time to explain an unfamiliar Christmas phrase.
Before you lead tomorrow, craft a speaking transitions that explains an unfamiliar phrase in a Christmas song.
If you want some examples of speaking transitions, this week's video on the Leading Worship Well YouTube channel covers that topic. It's called "5 Christmas Song Speaking Transitions For Worship Leaders." In the video, I share with you 5 speaking transitions that you can use to teach your church that #christmassongsareworshipsongs.
Go watch the video so you're prepared to lead tomorrow morning!
