2 Simple Secrets To Better Worship Team Devotionals
Worship team devotionals are a great way to regularly communicate vision to your team and pour into them spiritually.
In fact, I think devotionals are so important that I regularly list them as one of the 5 essential pillars of a great worship team rehearsal.
But, for worship team devotionals to truly be effective, they have to be led in the correct way.
You see, all too often worship team leaders spend a LONG time preparing to lead their team in a devotional. Then, when worship rehearsal comes they spend all their time speaking AT their team and all they get are blank stares.
That's frustrating!
That's why I want to share with you these 2 simple secrets to better worship team devotionals:
1 | Make the content of your devotional SPECIFIC to your worship team
Your worship team members get enough "general" spiritual teaching throughout the week.
This is your one chance during the week to speak directly to your worship team. So, make your devotional specific to them.
Use this time to cast vision for what you want your worship ministry to look like!
2 | Incorporate DISCUSSION into your devotional
Nobody wants to be talked AT for 15 minutes.
Instead of viewing your worship team devotional as a time for you to preach, view it like a small group environment.
Your role is not to preach for 15 minutes - it's to facilitate a discussion around a topic.
This understanding means that you don't have to prepare as much (yay!) because your team members are creating the content of the devotional. It also means your team members stay engaged and own the material you are talking about.
I kept these two secrets in mind when I created "We Are ALL Worship Leaders: An 8 Week Devotional For Worship Teams" which just came out earlier this week!
Each devotional spends a few minutes introducing a key concept and then gives your team questions to stimulate discussion around that topic.
"We Are ALL Worship Leaders" is available for a limited-time-only launch week discount until tomorrow!
