3 Quick Tips For Worship Leaders This Easter
There are just a couple of more weeks until Easter and I'm sure you're deep into getting everything ready.
So, here are 3 quick tips for worship leaders this Easter:
1 | Lead a song people are familiar with
People who rarely ever come to church will make the decision to come 2 times a year: Christmas and Easter.
As leaders, we can choose to ignore them or we can welcome them!
One of the ways you can make people feel welcomed is by putting a familiar song in your Easter set list.
Sure, there are tons of great new Easter songs. But chances are, if someone doesn't come to church on a regular basis, they aren't going to know them.
So, pick a song everyone will be familiar with. Here are few to consider: Amazing Grace, Jesus Paid It All, Nothing But The Blood, In Christ Alone, Mighty To Save.
2 | Over-explain things
Speaking of making people feel welcomed... consider how you communicate this Easter.
There are going to be new people at your service. So, over-explain things. Let them know why you do what you do and how you do it. Don't leave them wondering.
These can be great teaching moments - not just for new people but for your entire church. Sometimes, we all need a little reminder why we gather together on Sunday mornings.
3 | Don't neglect taking a day off
Just because it's a busy season doesn't mean you get a pass on taking a Sabbath.
I know there are a million things to do but you still need to rest. Don't sprint for these next 2 weeks and then show up on Easter morning exhausted. Your church deserves better than that.
Commit to taking at least 1 day off these next few weeks. Then, show up on Easter morning excited, refreshed, and ready to lead!
