3 Things to Do After You Lead Worship

Sundays can feel like the "big event." Everything leads up to it and then what? What if you could continue to function in your role as worship leader even after your Sunday gathering is over?

Here are 3 things you can do after you lead worship:

1 | Evaluate

Save the big evaluation for Monday. But there is still benefit in quickly evaluating your gathering directly after it's over. Just a short minute or two review. It's easy to forget things so write a few notes down. Answer these questions so you can review them in depth on another day: What did God do this morning? What could be better for next time?

Write down a short answer to these questions and move to the next step.

2 | Pray

Sunday mornings are filled with prayer. You pray when you start your gathering, you pray in the middle, and you end with praying over your church. What about when you go home? What if you were an advocate for the people of your church even after they had left? God continues to use what just happened on your Sunday gathering throughout the rest of the day (and week) as people go home and reflect. Pray that God would continue the work that he started - that he would continue to speak truth to people.

3 | Rest

Finally, take a break! Leading corporate worship is tiring. So lead yourself in worship by resting. Do something that re-energizes you. That's different things for different people: taking a nap, going out to eat, reading a book - whatever it is, recharge!
