3 Things You Can Delegate to Your Worship Team

Eventually we'd all like to see our teams grow - both in size and maturity. One of the best ways to do this is to delegate responsibilities.
This helps your team grow for two reasons: it frees you up to do other things because you have more time and, more importantly, it develops more leaders on your team.
Here are 3 things that you can delegate:
1 | Song Arrangements
What if you let someone else create a song arrangement? Have a conversation with someone on your team. Pick 2 songs that they can work on an arrangement for. The first time you do this you might have to walk them through the process: talk about order, dynamics, special elements, and where certain instruments will come in. From there, set them loose. Let them be creative. Then have them communicate the song arrangement to your team.
2 | Set list planning (involve them)
Another way to get people involved is to have them help plan your worship sets. There's always power in numbers so grab a few of your team's committed members - I'd recommend having a maximum of a group of 3. This will give you people to bounce ideas off of and these team members will be even more bought into the worship leading because they had a hand in creating the set.
3 | Worship team devotions
Allow your team members to lead a worship team devotion. Walk alongside them in the process but have them do the legwork. This allows them to practice communicating spiritual truths. Let them know that it doesn't have some long drawn out 15 minute lesson. Tell them to share what they've been thinking about recently in regards to worship and to ask one or two well placed questions to spark discussion.
