Leading Students in Worship - Let Them Lead Each Other

A great way to lead students in worship is to have them lead each other. Put together a team and mentor them in their worship leading.

Here are 3 reasons why you should let students lead other students in worship:

1 | Keeps it relevant

At the end of the day, students know what's relevant a lot quicker than adults do. Have you ever had one of those conversations with a student where they mention something and you have no idea what they're talking about? Then you go home and google it. That's because they know what's relevant way before you do.

Look: relevancy isn't the main goal in worship but it is the best method of communication. Let's be honest, some adults still think One Direction is important to kids. Students know best what resonates with other students so let them lead.

2 | Develops new leaders

This process also develops new leaders. And isn't that the goal? Building new leaders so that the church will be equipped for future generations. Not only that, but letting students lead other students is a safe environment for them to learn how to lead. There's a difference between leading your entire church on Sunday morning and leading a few songs at a youth gathering. This is your chance to come alongside the next generation and help them grow in their leadership.

3 | Students respond better to other students

Students respond better to people their age. There is a special connection that happens between people of the same age. It goes back to relevancy: students can communicate with other students in a way that resonates with them.
