The single greatest advantage that you have when you lead with only an acoustic guitar is intimacy.

There's just something about the stripped down nature of an acoustic guitar that feels intimate. And here's the crazy part: people long for that intimacy.

It's so easy to go into that time of leading thinking that you won't have as big of an impact because there isn't a bass drum involved. That's not true!

Think of those moments where you've been sitting around a campfire and someone pulls out an acoustic guitar. In those moments, nobody is wishing there was full band there to serenade them by fire light. All they care about is the closeness that that moment represents. The same atmosphere is there when you lead worship with just an acoustic.

So take advantage of the intimacy! Do things that you couldn't do with a full band or a click track or a back-up singer! Embrace the intimacy!
