New Chord Wednesday - E - Backwards Capo on the 4th Fret - 032010
I forget where I first picked up this technique but it's served me well over the years.
First of all, you need a Kyser style capo. Take the capo and turn it around so the handle is closer to the bottom side of your guitar. Then place the capo across the 4th fret of the e, B, G, D, and A string. Leave the low E string uncovered. (Swipe left to see what this looks like.)
Once you have the capo on, you can play standard C shape chords (C, F, Am, G, etc.). This technique gives you a fuller E chord because you're leaving the low E string open. Try it out and you'll see what I mean.
Let us know how it works for you!
