Saturday Challenge - Teach Your Church That Christmas Songs Are Worship Songs
I challenge you to explicitly teach your church that Christmas songs are worship songs tomorrow.
It's so easy for us to fall into the trap of just seeing Christmas songs as a nostalgic moment. It feels good when we sing them together because everyone knows them and has memories closely tied to them.
On one hand, that familiarity is a good thing because it means everyone can join in singing them. On the other hand, that familiarity makes it easy for people to slip into comfortability, turn their brain on autopilot, and spew out the words of the song.
But as a worship leader, it's your job to point the people you're leading to the fact that Christmas songs are WORSHIP songs. There is depth and meaning behind each lyric.
So, before you lead that Christmas song tomorrow, craft a speaking transition that guides people into the understanding that the song you're about to sing is worship just like any other song you sing in your service.
