3 Things To Do For Your Worship Ministry BEFORE Summer Is Over
Bad news... the summer ministry season is almost over (sad face). And this year's summer ministry season was definitely interesting to say the least!
But, there's still time to make the most of what's left of summer!
Here are 3 things to do for your worship ministry before summer is over:
1 | Long term planning for the fall
It's so important to not just work IN your ministry but to work ON your ministry.
It's no secret that once the fall ministry season hits things get crazy busy. (And maybe they were ALREADY crazy busy during this abnormal summer). That's why it's important to plan what you can plan BEFORE fall comes.
Take an hour, open up your calendar, and write down what you want/need to accomplish this fall. Work on the big picture stuff because soon you're going to have lots of small picture details to focus on.
Then, once you've got the big things written on your calendar, pick one or two and prepare for them.
If it's a worship night, pick the set list. You can always change it in the future but your future self will thank you for putting in some work ahead of time.
Schedule your volunteers for the first month of services so you don't have to worry about it!
Just do something - big or small - to prepare in advance!
2 | Take a day off!
Okay. You thought this summer was crazy. The ministry calendar always picks up in the fall - so prepare yourself by taking a day off!
You've got vacation days. Use them!
It's not a badge of honor to have a week's worth of vacation days left over at the end of the year.
Take a day or two off to be refreshed before the next season of ministry hits!
3 | Create one system that will benefit you in the fall
What simple system can you set up that will make what you do easier when the fall comes?
Is it how you create lyric slides?
Is it your on-boarding process for worship team members?
Find the one thing that you do week in and week out - create a system that makes it more efficient.
