1 | Song key
There are two sides to worship leaders when we lead on Sunday. There's the musician side and there's the leader side. The balance between these two sides is often hard to find and it's easy to shift too much weight onto the musician side. This leads us to make musical choices for ourselves. One of the most visible ways this displays itself is through the choice of song key. We want to make sure that we sound as good as possible. So we run through the song in a few keys until we find one that best fits OUR range.
The problem is: your vocal range is not the average vocal range of most people in your congregation.
SOLUTION: Keep the melody between Bb and Eb.

2 | Musical selection
How often do you introduce songs to your church? Maybe you've gotten tired of leading a song and you feel it's getting stale so you pump more songs into your repertoire.
The problem is: you have lived with the song way longer than your congregation has. If you introduce a new song every month that means your congregation has only heard the song a maximum of 4 times - and probably less than that because people don't come to church every Sunday.
SOLUTION: Recognize that what might be stale to you is just beginning to become fresh in your church.

3 | Personal worship
When you are leading, your personal worship should not usurp your worship leading. That might be a hard pill to swallow but it's true. You have been called to LEAD your church in worship. That means that you have to sacrifice certain elements of how you would normally worship for the greater good of the church.
The problem is: our understanding of worship is too small. We think worship is connecting with God through singing. But worship is much more than that - it is "offering your body as a living SACRIFICE."
SOLUTION: View your worship LEADING as an act of worship in and of itself.
