I challenge you to turn entertainment into worship tomorrow.
Unless they've been specifically taught differently, the average church-goer sees music on Sunday as entertainment. It's just something they come to enjoy. Their job is to stand and listen to the band play and maybe they'll sing along if they like the song. And that's dangerous because when that happens, worship becomes entertainment.
As a worship leader, part of your job is to make sure people know that they are there to worship and that can happen by doing 3 things:
1 | Picking appropriate song keys
2 | Speaking the expectation
3 | Modeling the expectation
Before you lead tomorrow, commit to focusing on one of these 3 things that will make sure your church worships and isn't just entertained.
